White Dog Cafe

What a quirky weird name to have.

Entering, a youthful vibe greets with its bright sofas and eclectic decor. Italian, French and Japanese fusion all under one roof.

Set Lunch at $10.80+ comes with a standard soup, and a tea. Choose from a range of meat mains, pasta or baked rice and add desserts at extra charges.

Chicken Consomme

This saltish starter didnt not manage to impress at all. Clear MSG-packed chicken stock with tiny chicken chunks and a slice of lousy garlic baguette.

The seafood lover's obvious choice once again...

Japanese Panfried Glazed Salmon Fillet

At least it didn't fare too badly. The portion have very much improved with the fish marinated well enough. Served with salad and one small clump of buttered rice.

Cheesy Baked Rice with Chicken and Cream Sauce

Decided not to skip desserts here since i could get a slice of cake off the fridge at an additional $3.50. Furthermore, their bestseller recommended by the waitress happened to be my favourite!

Blueberry Cheesecake

High hopes meant a high disappointment. This is so far one of the worst renditions, leaving me totally dissatisfied. The cheese was horridly wet and oversoft while the base and jam topping didn't score any better. To think such a standard could still become a bestseller.

Warm Chocolate Cake ($5.80)

A smarter move was to opt for their specialty dessert instead. Still a short fall below expectations (anticipated some flowing chocolate at least!) but that premium bittersweet chocolate used made it a more worthy order.
