Ma Maison

Dark and rundown-looking from the outside, this restaurant in a corner of Bugis Junction is far from inviting. This is when the saying "never judge a book by its cover" comes to practice..

Look in further and you will find it the most unique place to dine in. The place is done up with charming old-fashioned furnishing to resemble a typical English cottage. It gives one a warm cosy feel as they dined on Japanese-style western food.

Fish for both me and Dad.

Baked Salmon

A notable dish served with cheese covered potatoes and vegetables by the side. Pan-seared before being baked, the salmon came hot, firm and smooth. Its surface was tasty but accompanying sauce was utterly lousy. Simply a pool of yellow oil.

Grilled Seabass

Gave it a try and found it a tad too bland.

We ended our meal with a dessert which was highly raved about by an online blogger...

Brownie ($5.50)

Bestest brownie ever.
It sure took to my fancy. Bites of these were a delight to me... soft, warm and moist with adequate chocolate punch. Have it with the vanilla icecream and the bliss doubles. If only more walnuts added!

An interesting bit: a heavy brass key indicating our table number is placed at the side, where we have to take it to the counter to make payment. Redundant but exclusive.
