Marche Movenpick

Its a dinner meet-up with my GP groupmates, Samantha and Huiching.

Honestly speaking, i really cannot recall when my last visit to Marche was. Must have been ages ago since they already had a whole series of relocation and eventually settled into the top floor of VivoCity. Cosy cottage-style furnising and market place setting continues to draw a consistent crowd...of course the charging-to-a-card system played a part too. you can't do that anywhere else.

Not forgetting the swiss food. My two dinner partners and i agreed in unison that we have to try their rosti- and a swiss cross bun at the end. provided if we could manage it, that is.

Rosti with Sour Cream ($4.50)

Famed rosti featuring fine shredded potatoes panfried into a patty. Glad to say it came without the buttery overload and is well-paired up with sour cream.

Huiching headed for a Chicken on her own while the two indecisive ones (yes including me) walked round and round... before deciding to share 2 mains together.

Salmon Steak ($12.50 for 150g)

I wasn't awfully disappointed as it was able to hit the mark. Well pan-seared and well-marinated to give a seasoned surface. Just somewhat on the oily side.

Crepes with Cheese & Sauteed Mushrooms ($10.80)

A thick batter crepe with an elastic and chewy characteristic. On the insides they add in an assortment of raw veggies like doumiao which may not be fancied by all- samantha removed all of hers. Pretty tasteless mushrooms.

Grilled Chicken Breast ($6.50)

Swiss Cross Bun ($1)

So we did have our bun afterall. This traditional creation is topped with a sweet glossy blanket, somewhat like custard. Not offering to warm it up is a big mistake to make, i never liked my bread cold and stale.

As long as their hot favourites remain, this classic marketplace concept will remain to be a hit with the customers. I'm of no exception.
