Breeks Cafe

When you have a malay classmate, you would have to select a Halal venue for a class dinner. We were greeted by commendable service at this Harbourfront outlet, friendly staffs who were eager and polite maintained their smiles and even shouted welcome and goodbye in unison.

Foodwise, they failed to impress. All of us agreed average food at killer prices. Shall go through in order of arrival...


BBQ Half Chicken with Pepper Cream Sauce ($15.90)

With two stumps of yellowish Mash Potato, for Jeff and Gabriel.


Potato Island ($5.90)

The muslim girl ended ordering just an appetiser- deepfried half potaoes loaded with pan-fried crabmeat, topped with mushroom sauce and parmesan cheese. A much cheaper yet filling option.


Pan-Seared Blackpepper Seabass ($16.90)

Mine was third to arrive. The seabass fillet is typically floured before pan-frying, then served with a passable tomato-based pasta and some buttered vegetables. Grapefruit sauce seemed more like cheese to me.


Chicken Pattie Melted ($12.90)

Clarissa's. Minced chicken patty topped with panseared capsicums, onions and then topped with a melted cheddar slice.


Pasta with Mushroom Cream Sauce ($9.50)

Sarah and Ian went for the pasta-only alternative, which failed to resemble its appetising image in the menu.


Hotplate Salmon Steak ($16.90)

Yingjie was ultra shocked to see his paltry portion of panseared salmon served with a few sauteed potato slices on a hotplate. Xinmei had it too. I'm sure they were only half-filled after the meal.


Baked Dory Glazed with Lime Chilli Sauce ($15.90)

Spicy and tangy panseared dory for sam and junhe.


Baked Dory glazed with mushroom Cream Sauce ($15.90)

Creamy and aromatic panseared dory for Huiling- it could certainly win the healthiest choice award.


Brownie with Warm Cheese Sauce ($6.20)

I could not resist the temptation to steal a bite from Sarah and Krist's dessert... it was such a novelty! The cheese was an unusual accompanimentwhich went surprisingly cooperative with the choco-chips filled brownie, jazzing up the semi-sweetness with a warm savoury touch. Goodbye, chocolate syrups.


Towering Cioccolato ($6.20)

Caroline and Xinmei shared a sundae too.

The bill was a full-time bomb- so a revisit is most unlikely.

school life is so taxing that i'm finding it hard to catch up with my blogging. will have to skip a long list of entries once again and hop on to the most recent ones first. sad!

TCC's Sandwich Affair


MatchAzuki Freeze ($7)

The lastest beverage addition on the menu featured a repertoire of japanese green tea and red bean blended icy and milky, truly awesome.


Chicken and Mushroom Sandwich ($10.50)

This dish was full of tastes to excite the senses. An assemble of cold cajun chicken slices with sauteed mushrooms, tomatoes and crunchy lettuce on a toasted wholemeal bun. What took to my liking most was that greenish Asian Pesto puree, stunning with a punch of chinese parsley and ginger. A total chicken rice condiment!


Creamy Tuna and Cheese Melt Sandwich ($9.50)

Dad's hot sandwich consisted of creamy tuna baked with melted cheddar cheese and tomato. Both our orders were served with mesclun mix and pieces of pappadum crisps, suited to meet the local needs.

Skinny Cappuccino & Japanese Cherry Tea

It was another Saturday morning at Parkway and Dad decided a change for breakfast. The All-Day Breakfast sets is accompanied with free-flow of coffee/ tea and seemed to be popular with the early crowd here. Cappuccino comes at $1.20 more.


Brek O Day ($7.30)

The most wholesome selection out of the menu had to be Dad's Brek O Day. Scrambled eggs, sausages and toast fitted his favourites list exactly.


Salmon N Egg Muffin ($7.30)

Mine did just as fine. I had nice smoked salmon slices sandwiched between toasted bread and sided with a hearty cranberries-almond salad. The panini bread i substituted for (instead of english muffin) was also deliciously tasty on its own, bearing a mild sweet aftertaste.

Pasta Cafe



This is the kind of place you wouldn't intentionally know of but lured in as you walk pass. In fact, they are one of the longest-stadings in the area.

Dad and i conveniently entered the cafe during our dinner search at Ngee Ann City, after the "Pasta Cafe" title hit to our delights. We are two pasta fanatics ready to take on new attempts anytime. However, they were yet another fusion specialisation offering bizarre pastas like Seafood Sambal Marinara, XO Seafood and Kong Bao Chicken.

Seafood Spaghetti ($17.90)

I would be happier skipping those.

My Seafood Spaghetti was a clear option downed in a seafood stock infused with white wine. The highlight went straight to the abundance of fresh Seafood, especially prawns and crayfish. For the soup it stood on the blander scale,best suited to the less-salt, healthier choice! crowd.


Spaghetti Vongole ($16)

Dad's dish with air-flown japanese clams raised high hopes which fell to an unexpected disappointment. The sweet soup base was no doubt satisfying but a inaccurate extract from the dried out clams.

Clearly good service, especially from the manager himself. They do have more to be tasted but a revisit is still unclear.

Pizza Pazza



I have long heard of Pizza Pazza's big name since it started off at the Oscar Foodcourt at Anchorpoint. Today i approached the newly renovated shop in Koufu with much anticipation, added on by the strong yielding crowd- most of the foodcourt diners were their customers!



This is not the usual foodcourt stall to expect. A restaurant-like competitive menu stood before the diners, with an elaborated shop space of glass windows to reveal the kitchen affairs, and alluring food illustrations above.

Operations also tended to be a little more sophisticated. Your orders are taken at the counter, payment made then given a number card to await at your seat. Collection comes when your number flashes. 82 was mine, and up i went.


Black Pepper Prawn Pasta ($8)

The pastas came neat and looking good. Pepper prawn spaghetti with the chosen cream sauce sat beneath five deep-fried prawns. Overthick though.


5 Star Baked Fish Pasta ($7)

My decision was final the moment i spotted this...Baked special-crusted toman fish fillet with aglio olio spaghetti was too tempting for me to miss. Well, that two generous baked fillets & aglio packed with just the right amount of fragrance and spice did hit a throat-hurting danger but ignoringly enjoyed. Really value for the money too!


Panna Cotta ($1.80)

We couldn't resist a dessert for its wonderful price as well. A wobbly pudding, creamy yet neither too rich or sweet with its light caramel topping. Almost perfect, very much on par with restaurant standards.

I call the meal a real steal.

Waffle with Peanut Butter Icecream

This is my second most-favourite waffle, ranked right after the ultimate Haato. Fresh machine-churned icecreams range from flavours like cinnamon apple to peanut butter and even brownie, made me lost for choice.


Waffle with Super Cheesy Strawberry Icecream ($6.90)

Perpetual pick here is the super cheesy strawberry- not too premium a version but acceptable to preference. The waffles were stunning, neutrally tasting and slightly fluffy under a dark brown crisp coating. There was also a choice of butterscotch, caramel, strawberry or chocolate sauce. yum.
