In the absence of mum we celebrated Dad's 53rd birthday at his new-found haunt.
Drove up the secluded labrador park for a dinner close to the mesmerizing greenery. Charming outdoor dining concept, open-air rainforest setting, i suppose it greets a welcoming break from the hustle and bustle of the city.
An interesting location where one can unwind in the beauty of nature- with the living creatures as well. The first thing we spotted on our table was a a spider on the napkins followed by multiple giant ants amidst our meal. Eeks.
With the intention to keep the bill affordable, we all gave the pastas a shot.
Spaghetti Scampi ($25)
A hearty plate of aglio suited more for the health-conscious. Al dente spaghetti accomapnied with a handful of fresh shiitake mushrooms and 6 succulent prawns! However the approach to keeping things light and mild reached an overbland extent for me. More garlic would be good.
Spaghetti Vongole ($23)
Spaghetti Al Funghi ($20)
Our other orders were equivalently up to mark and devoured off without delay.
Warm Molten Chocolate Cake ($12.95)
It merely passed the test with the presence of flowing chocolate but the cocoa richness certainly didnt hit the depth of being impressive.
The highest opportunity cost of this unique concept? Absence of airconditioning. This may be a letdown for some but the whirring fans and night breeze did make up for it. Certainly one of the best alfresco dining resturants in Singapore!
