A pre-christmas lunch with dad. Following our christmas lunch here a year ago, we decided to give their festive ala carte dishes another try. Only available from 1 to 25 December 2007.
Mushroom Soup ($6.80)
Our first soup order off the regular menu had the funghi component completely blended in. Smooth, but on the watery side and a tad salty.
Turkey Roll in Asparagus ($13.80)
My main course of turkey ham slices wrapping asparagus sends another gush of rocketing sodium. At least those tasteless sticks helped to neutralise it. The chestnut sauce was alright but i particularly preferred the sweet cranberry dressing on the salad.
Gratinated Honey Baked Ham ($13.80)
Dad's order featured thick ham halves topped with pineapple ring and melted mozzarella cheese.
Bread & Butter Pudding with Cranberries ($9.80)
ooh man i loved this! Their version baked in a souffle dish was unlike those typical heavy ones around. In fact, this came delectably light with an eggy creamy custard and cubes of flaky croissant pastry. It actually tasted more like a portugese egg tart than pudding.
To heighten the bliss, cranberries pieces and yummy cinnamon icecream were the most appropriate go-alongs.
