Dad and i decided to try something new for dinner. Tucked away from the city, deep inside Greenwood Avenue lies an excellent spot for an intimate seafood meal. Driving is undeniably necessary and reservations are strongly recommended.
The exterior of the restaurant did lack the appeal- it is literally a fish market where huge exposed fishes are available for purchase. Walk further in and a dim room comes to view... wow, with a cosy and serene ambience i liked. It took me little observance to notice the many illustrations of fishes hung on the walls, quite an eye-opener.
Service staff were prompt, our orders were taken fast.
Lobster Tofu ($14.95)
To start off, dad ordered a homemade lobster tofu for sharing. Separated by an eggplant slice in the middle are two round coins deep fried to a light crackling crisp. Each contained two little pieces of lobster meat.
We both had fish made our-style where we chose from a range of available catches and our preferred cooking method. Different species at different prices of course. Dad picked the tuna, chargrilled to medium doneness. I guess he enjoyed it.
Char-grilled Yellowfin Tuna ($24.95)
My choice is obviously SALMON- but this time not the usual type. I went along with the waiter's recommendation of a rare king atlantic salmon, chargrilled. An additional $7 load on our bill.
Char-grilled Chinook Atlantic Salmon ($26.95)
Its either a miscommunication or a glaring mistake. My request for a medium-well fillet turned out to be an outrageously raw dish. Only the surfaces were cooked; the remaining parts were all pink and fleshy. Good thing the fish was ultra-fresh, but somehow its flaky nature didn't manage to win me over.
The various choices offered is sure enough to bring us back. Dad intends to return on his birthday next month. FRESHNESS IS THE KEY TO GOOD SEAFOOD.

Yes, It's been a long while since I had a good grilled tuna steak. Last was in Boston in early 2005. Will certainly return one day.
