The CaffeBar

Here's another creation of Daniel Tay- the founder of Bakerzin.

They don't actually occupy a shop space but instead situated in the middle of the fashion reatil area of Parkway Parade. Dad frequents here for lunch so often that he now holds their exclusive VIP card.

A series of all-day Set Meals are available, which comes with a soup & drink. $18.80 Gourmet Set for dad, $19.80 Cuisine Set for me.

Ciabatta & Brown Bread

We helped ourselves to the loaves offered free-flow with any soup/set order. Decent homemade stuffs. Slicing & toasting self-service.

Potato Soup

Soup-of-the-day was served hot and comforting.

Medallion of Salmon with Soy-Honey & Wasabi

Two pieces of salmon fillet, coiled up and pan-fried to perfection. Surprisingly, it went really well with the dashes of sensational wasabi sauce. My grouse had to be the measly portion, but then again, quality beats quantity.

Linguini Vongole

Dad left after his main course to head back to the office, while i ventured further into their dessert selections...

Baked Apple Tart ($9.80)

Quite a stunner. This sweet delicacy featured a light puff pastry based under sweet apple slices in almond cream, raisins and pinenuts. Wholesomely completed with a dollop of rich and satisfying homemade icecream. Adelectable hit for me!

English Breakfast Tea

Well, Daniel Tay's standard can't go too far off. The emphasis on presentation, ambience and all is just so typical of his style. A return is definite, i would want to try their pasta and the other desserts.
